Sinecures
Use 4. So in regard to the persons respectively possessing
an interest most interests of any kind in relation to the several offices
use interest of any kind viz. in the character of incumbents
or patrons, and in both instances whether in
possession or expectancy.
Use 5. The same office having in many instances been enquired
into by the considered contemplated by the Committee in different points of view,
for example as being in the character of a Sinecure,
or in that in the character of an useless or overpaid office, or
as having been the subject of the grant of a reversionary
interest or of a grant for joint lives with Survivorship,
and or as having being or being about to be in the occupation of a Member of the House of Commons, to shew
in each instance in how many and which of those
different points of view the same office might be seen
presenting itself.
Use 6. So again in regard to the persons interested
in the several offices, as above whether as patrons or
as incumbents, and to wit thus in possession or expectancy, as
above: and to this head belongs the case of Pluralines
and Pluralists.
Such seem to be the principal uses derivable from a
list of the description in question: the principal uses to which
it would actually be applicable, and thence the chief of the good
purposes the to the fulfilment of which the endeavours of a any person who
had given were to give himself the
trouble to make out such
a list might naturally
be expected to be found directed.
