The information delivered by them under this head,
a mass of information occupying no fewer than 13 folio
pages, can it thus be said to be altogether of no use? Not so
neither: for out of it, by him who will bestow the pain,
matter as capable of being rendered in some shape
or other rendered of use, may here and there be extracted.

But if had it been among those objects , regard being had
to the heads under and by which the engagement was
taken to afford information, and it been among those
objects so to order matters, that so far as could be
done consistently with that engagement could be done,
the use capable of being extracted from the ample mass of information
should be reduced to its lowest dimensions possible
this object could it would not perhaps have been easy so
to order matters as that this object should be more effectually
attained provided for than upon examination it will be
found to be accomplished.

To the name of the Officer the name of Office
affords a natural and, one would naturally expect
to find a sure as well as easy clue, nor in every
instance will he whose endeavour it may be to employ
it in that character, lose his labour.

It is but however here and there that he will find it answers
such his purpose.

Where the Office in question is what may be termed
a single-rented Office, one Officer and no more being the
person by whom it is occupied. But out of the 432 articles
or thereabouts which this document will be found to comprehend, no
more than a small proportion not half perhaps, scarcely half will be found
to be in this case that instruction.
