Another exception claim to exemption is that which may
be put in favour of brevity.

If between the laws the interests of brevity and the interests of precision
the discordance conflict were irreconcilable, a man
whose wish it were to do equal justice to justice between both parties
might not unfrequently be apt to find himself considerably experience considerable embarrassment
at a loss.

But in general the opposition discordance will not be found
so violent but that by means of a little concession
on each side concord harmony may be established, where
neither by pecuniary interest the interest or the purse>, nor by men are neither above speaking intelligibly, nor in any
other account averse to the practice of speaking intelligibly
nor incapable of it, harmony and in a double sense good understanding
may be established affected brought about.

Botanists for example and the writers of official persons speaking in the Chronicle
Department in Magazines appear to have hit
as if in concert upon a very simple expedient, by
which so desirable a reconciliation appears to be very
effectually accomplished.

After giving one for all in all its letters the name of the genus
of which he has to speak, the Botanist in speaking
of its several species, takes time thereafter to name appoint
the first to as often as the occasion occurrs of bringing

the first letter to serve as proxy for the rest as proxy for the whole word.
