practical good, – you propose to effect or to promote by
the question enquiry you mean to institute.

In this we see This is a consideration which ought to be kept borne
in mind not merely antecedently to all enquiry and
when the question is shall or shall not any enquiry
be made into the subject – but in the oc instance and
for the benefit of each individual of to whom it is proposed
that the enquiry should in any part of it any part of the enquiry should be addressed.
The vexation of which it may happen to be in that
instance of this individual it may happen to the enquiry
to be productive, is it necessary to the production
of the good aimed at proposed to be accomplished? and if necessary is the
attendant on attached to it
good so considerable as that the vexation
that is the evil ought to be considered as outweighed
by it.
