and... it further enacted that any
number not by than tenfoot
ministerial officers of the Peace and
two on horseback shall diligently patrole
some or other of the several streets ten foot and two horse at least do duty every night.
and places within their respective
divisions beginning and ending at
such hours and disposing themselves
in such manner and patroling such
streets and places as the said
commissioners or the said High Constable shall direct and appoint
according as it shall appear to be
expedient or necessary and as the
case may require.
