And be it further enacted that it shall be
lawfull for the said Commissioners, or any of them
or any person, or persons being an Officer or Officers
duly appointed by the said Commissioners to apprehend
or cause to be apprehended all idle and disorderly
persons, rogues and vagabonds, and incorrigible
rogues, and all and every person and persons , who may this is much too general
be suspected by them or any of them, of having, or
carrying, or any ways conveying any Goods or
chattels or other things suspected to have been Officers of Commissioners may take persons conveying goods suspected to be stolen in
stolen, or unlawfully come by feloniously taken and carried away and the same together
with such person or persons, as soon as conveniently
may be, to carry or convey, before any Justice of the
Peace: to be dealt with according to Law and if the person or persons so apprehended
having, carrying, or any ways conveying any such
goods, chattels, or things suspected to have been
stolen or unlawfully come by, shall not produce
the party or parties from whom, he, she, or they
bought or received the same, or some other credible
witness, to depose upon Oath the sale or delivery of over again
the same (which Oath any such Justice is hereby
authorized to administer) or shall not give an
account to the satisfaction of the said Justice or
Justices, how he she , or they, came by the same, then,
and in every such case, the person or persons, so
apprehended shall be deemed and taken to be Idle and
disorderly, and shall be dealt with, as the Law in
such cases has directed and appointed.
