every subsequent offence £40

And be in further enacted, that all and
every person or persons, in whose Dwelling House
Outhouse, Shop, Warehouse, Cellar, Yard, or other
place, any such idle and disorderly person, rogue accessory receiver of stolen goods or
and + vagabond, incorrigible rogue, felon, or other
offender shall be found [knowingly and artfully
to be] harboured shall upon being convicted of so
knowingly and wilfully harbouring such person
or persons as aforesaid before any Justice or Justices
of the Peace, on the Oath of one or more credible witness
or witnesses, for the first offence, forfeit the sum of
£10. and for every subsequent offence the sum of £20
or shall be committed to Prison, without Bail or
, for any time not exceeding three Calendar
months.
+ This appears much too severe a Law when
applied to so vague a description as Vagabond.
