If
Victualler &c
prevent entry
and search for
Idle and disorderly
persons, shall
forfeit £50
and Certificate.
And be it further Enacted, that if
any Victualler, or other person licensed to
sell beer, Ale, or Spirituous Liquors, or any
one, or more, by his, her, or their Order,
connivance, or encouragement shall
prevent such Commissioner or Commissioners
Officer or Officers, from entering any
such House, and searching for such
idle and disorderly persons, or shall
Assault or otherwise resist such
Commissioner or Commissioners, Officer
or Officers, every Person or Persons so
Offending shall upon due Examination
and Conviction of so assaulting and
resisting forfeit and pay the Sum of £50:
and the Certificate hereinafter required
to be granted to such Person or persons,
( + and every Certificate that may be
granted within Three Years from and
after the Time of such Conviction shall
be utterly Void, and of no Effect whatsoever.)
This prospective clause seems to amount to
a taking away of the License - and further
for it prevents the effect of any license that can
be granted for 3 years
