Secretary to
make Entry
& give Certificate
thereof.
And be it further enacted that the
Secretary of the the said Commissioners shall
make a cause to be made an Entry of
such Notice, in a Book or Books to be
kept for that purpose and shall deliver
or cause to be delivered to all and every
Person or Persons respectively, who shall
so have given notice as aforesaid a
Certificate in Writing under the hand &
Seal of one two or more of the said Commissioners
testifying such Notice to have been given
and Entry to have been made and shall
do the same as often as such Notice shall
be given as aforesaid Any person
of above Description
not having
Certificate to
forfeit £10
Second offence
£100.
And if any Person
or Persons shall after the said 1:st day of
October 1785 Let any Lodging, or Let
any House out in Tenements or shall be
Licensed to sell Beer, Ale, or spirituous
Liquors or shall use, exercise or carry on
any one or more of the aforesaid Trades or
Occupations without having such a Certificate
granting and bearing date sometime within
One Calendar Month before the last preceeding
October or shall neglect to produce the same upon
demand by any person having Authority from the
said Commissioners to require such production, and
shall be duly Convicted thereof, before any one, or
more Justice, or Justices of Peace, he, she, or they
shall forfeit and pay the Sum of £10 - and for every
Subsequent Offence the Sum of £100. and if the said
Secretary upon proper Notice of a person's name and
place of abode as aforesaid shall refuse to grant such
Certificate, he shall forfeit the Sum of £10.
