Three or two Persons
to be appointed to do
business at each Public
Office.
And be it further enacted that it shall be lawful
for his Majesty from time to time to appoint three or two Persons
being Justices of the Peace of the City County or place to Act at
each of the said Offices (save and except the Guildhall office)
one of them being always a Barrister at Law of Six years
Standing at the least AND that one or other of the said Justices
shall always at all Seasonable times be in Readiness to hear
Complaints sign Warrants and other precepts and determine
such matters as are brought before him or them and one of the
one of them to reside there
and appoint Clerks Officers
&c.
said three or appointed Justices shall and he is hereby
required to reside at and Inhabit the Office to which he is
Appointed AND the said residing Justice shall Hire and
Retain one or more person or persons to be Clerk or Clerks and
also such Officers and other Assistants as he shall Judge proper
and convenient for a due and regular discharge of the duty
and business of the said Office AND the said residing Justice
shall make or Cause the said Clerk or Clerks from time to time
to make due Entry in a Book or Books to be kept for that Purpose of all
Complaints Informations Examinations Confessions Convictions
and other proceedings heard received, taken, made, or had
at the said Office with a Minute of all Warrants Summons or other
precepts Signed by any other Justice Acting at the said Office.
