Commission of Oyer
and Terminer for
finding Bills and
trying Offenders in the
Parishes in Surrey.
Be it therefore enacted by the Authority aforesaid that it shall
be lawful for his Majesty to grant a Commission of Oyer and
Terminer under the Great Seal, directed to certain persons, one or
other of them being a Justice or Justices of the peace of the Borough
of Southwark; enabling such Commission to enquire of and
to hear and determine all Treasons, Felonies, Misdemeanours,
and breaches of the peace committed within any of the following
parishes, that is to say, the parish of St George, St John, St Olave,
St Saviour, St. Thomas, Christ Church, Saint Mary Newington,
Saint Mary Magdalen Bermondsey, Saint Mary Lambeth, and
Saint Mary Rotherhithe being in the Borough of Southwark, or
in the County of Surrey.
