On representation
of the Commissioners
the Secretary of State
may suspend the
Weekly Sessions.
Provided always and be it enacted, that as often as —
it shall appear, upon the Representation of the said Commissioner
or Commissioners to his Majesty's principal Secretary of State —
for the Home Department, that it would be unnecessary to hold
any of the next approaching weekly Sessions aforesaid, it shall
be lawful for the said Secretary of State to give notice thereof
to the Clerk of the Session of Oyer and Terminer and Gaol —
Delivery or Clerk of the peace, who shall communicate the same
to the Justices; and the Justices shall, accordingly; if the Sessions
is then sitting, adjourn to such following week, as shall be
directed by the said Secretary of State; And if the Sessions is not —
Sitting, that the said Justices shall issue a precept (to be published
in the London Gazette) directing the holding of the next weekly —
Sessions to be suspended, and to be adjourned to such following —
week, as shall be directed by the said Secretary of State. —
provided further, that every one of the aforesaid Sessions shall —
be adjourned as aforesaid to the same day in the week, as is —
above ordained for each to be respectively holden, and to no —
other.
