Tothill Fields 1 Decr 1796

Per Sam, at his House
1 Decr 1796

Meeting yesterday,
Dean, Sam & Bill
(Finch expected not
present) Dean with
an air of humour
Here; another letter
from Mr Bentham
take it to the Chapter
room.

Presently after comes
the Sketch with the
Observations — Dean.
Here here's another
paper from
Mr Bentham —
here put it along
with the former one.
Bill — Give me time
to look at it first.
He accordingly took
it, and read it or
began reading of it.
This was all that
passed.

Finch a close
Man — does not
in general let it be
known what his mind
is about things —
He is the Rector of St
Johns. He said once
upon this occasion that the Churchwardens
had a plan
in relation to the Fields
that would be very
beneficial to all parties —
and that they
would soon come forward
with it.

Finch certainly went
about it to Ld Belgrave.
