Punishment is Pain. If a man feels pain anyat
all where, it must be either in body or in mind. If in
body it can be on no person's account, but his own
If in mind it may be either on his own account
or on that of some one else. If on his own
account it may arise from either of two sources:[of
which the principal ] 1. from the apprehension of
suffering any bodily pain, or 2 from [and the ap consciousness of having lostbeing or
the apprehension of being about to lose any kind
