5. Self-preservation. – Between self-preservation and
punishment the relation is of this sort.
Self-defence is the name given to the an act of punishment,
in so far as the evil the prevention of
which is the ultimately intentional result to the production
of which is aimed at it is directed by it is considered as
striking men particular against the well-being or
the being or the well-being of him whose act
