6. So again in the case of safe-custody.
On the face of it the term safe-custody presents nothing
but what is desirable. But let the confinement or
the imprisonment, the continuance of which is the
result endeavoured to be served provided for be ever so groundless,
and the evil inflictions suffering heaped upon the parties in during
the course of it ever so agonizing, the custody will
not be less safe.
