I think, rather apocryphal. Be that as it may such But if it be true such

it would hardly show for what it was.
Boiling to Plunging into boiling water would
answer the purpose very well in point of exemplarity.
Such a death would upon the face
of the description, be tremendous: at the same time
that in reality it would not be much more
afflictive than simple death, since however intense
the pain might be it would be over in
an instant. But the circumstance of the heat
would break in upon the analogy. That a man
who ruined has destroy'd a country by water should himself
be destroy'd by water, seems consonant enough
to the popular notions of what is called Equity.
