Disablement
Members liable to be
disabled.
The Members liable to be disabled [either perpetually or
also for a time] without destroying life or the member itself are as follows.
1. The Eyes: being the organ of vision.
2. The Nose: viz: the internal Nose or organ of smell.
3. The Ear: viz: The internal ear or organ of
hearing.
4. The Mouth: being the principal[a] organ for the reception of food aliment.
5. The lower Jaw; which is being one of the organs of speech
and mastication
6. The Tongue of being another of the organs of
speech and mastication; as also one of the organs
of taste.
7. Possibly The Palate and in general the inside of the mouth being one of the organ of
taste
8. The hand, and any f in general any portion
of the upper extremities amounting to a joint.
9. The feet, and in general any portion of the
lower extremities amounting to a joint.<hi rend="superscript">[b]</hi>
10. The Vertebrae of the Neck, by which the Head is
moved.

no room to move it it may be said to be disabled
from drawing out: If they do not press him, insomuch
that by having a stool on the other side to
rest his foot on he may avoid letting the his leg
touch the boards at all, he may be said to be only
distracted from drawing out.
