Territorial Confinement

By Territorial Confinement the dominions of the state
are divided up with respect to the sufferer as it were
into two districts: the one [in any part] of which
he may be: in the is permitted to be in any part; the other of which he
is not permitted to be in any part. In The district
in which he is permitted to be is either the same reside, that his abode
the place be resided in at the time of the sentence, as an is either
included or is not. If it is and it be the punishment
may be called simply Territorial Confinement.
If not it may be called Relegation.
Territorial Confinement where the scene of it though
still lying within the dominions of the state of which he the sufferer is a member
lies in a province different from that in which his ordinary
residence was at the time of the sentence may be
stiled Relegation. When there is Sea between the
two Provinces it is stiled Transportation.
Banishment differs is distinguished from Territorial [Relegation]
in this Territorial Confinement
The word Banishment I wold confine to the
case where the sufferer delinquent
