in which Labour servitude is employ'd in somewhat of
a mixt form, between the indiscriminate and
the specific. At Warsaw, There is a public workhouse
in which delinquents convicts are confined in ordinary to particular
employments regulated determined prescribed by the
Laws or Customs of the place. To this workhouse
however any person may
who thinks proper may apply, and upon giving obtain a
certain number of the convicts to be
allowed to him to perform be employ'd in such a piece of
work for such a time. He pays This temporary Master gives security
for their being forthcoming at the end of the time,
and pays for their labour at a stipulated price,
which goes towards the expences of the House.
