Laborious Imprisonment
when he is there, he must perform his task. Now there are
two distinguishable punishments, the laborious active punishment and
the confinement going on at once. This confinement
may as the case is be either Imprisonment or Quasi
Imprisonment: at any rate here are two distinguishable punishments the Quasi Imprison laborious punishment, and
the confinement going on at once. Each of These depending
both of them either altogether or at least in in some measure upon the will
require each of them some other punishment to back them; and for this
purpose each may have a different subsidiary punishment.
What sort of punishment is most proper for
each will be shown in the proper place its proper hereafter.† † See Chap. Of Subsidiary Punishment
Laborious Active punishment then may subsist in either of
two ways states; either simply by itself, or complicated with
confinement. Both are equally conceivable; but the
latter is most by much the most in practise.

It is confinement by physical means physical – natural – human.
