Small-Pox is at this time so much everywhere upon
the Road, that I must decline all Intention of a
Journey into Essex this Summer. But I may intimate that what
is an insuperable Bar to my going to my Friends,
is none at all to their coming to us; and as it is
in their Power to give me the Enjoyment of their Company,
it would be very kind in them to do it, since
Providence has put it of mine to give it to myself
and if their Business and Engagements permit them
to perform a Promise more than once made of coming to Suffolk,
I must desire them to take you along with them; a Visit,
I presume, not disagreable to you, and highly agreable
to us. — I hope your Papa and Mamma are perfectly
recovered of their late Indispositions. Our most affectionate
Respects to them, our humble Duty to our good Aunt,
our cordial Salutations to all Friends, and most tender
Wishes for your Health and Happiness conclude this
sincere Testimony of a true Regard from,

Dear Jerry,
Your loving cousin and Friend,
Samuel Ray
