Dear Sir
That I have not waited on
you as you had great Reason to expect I
have Occasion to be very uneasy at, and I'll
venture to say am much more so than you can
be, for as I am not us'd to break my Promise,
the being oblig'd to do so has a disagreeable Effect
upon me. To tell you I have been disappointed
myself 'tho the Truth will be no Satisfaction
to you, and I will endeavour to procure you a
more solid one by some means or other shortly,
when the Dividends are paid is a certain resource;
but 'twill be some time first I fear; 'Tis to no
Purpose to depend on the Promises of others
I find, You will not only join with me in that
Conclusion, but join me in it. but I cannot help
it; so much for that. —
