he then told me he wished I would leave my drawing
with him for he would get a copy. I told him the
drawing was at his service and that he was very
welcome to keep it. he said he was very much
obliged to me and if ever they mentioned any thing
about my Pump to him or were willing to adopt
any part of it. he would certainly let me know
we made our bow's and I departed.
One would think the Surveyor was out of his mind
for if they did give that as a reason against it (which
to me appears the greatest for it) he was mad to
tell it to me without any caution not to mention it.
and if they did not he was mad to invent it.
but there is no more paper.
