agreable an amusement, but Euclid's elememts are very dry
study, but a very important one but much more important than
Painting, especially in the manner I study or rather translate them
The task I have undertaken is rather laborious but its the great use it will be of to me
hereafter together with a rub up now and then from my Brother (which
he never fails to send as soon as I signifie to him the receipt of it)
makes me at present attach myself almost wholly to it. but I have
indeed lately met with some things propositions and particularly ac which I was affraid I
must have given up but I attacked it on all sides with all the forces
I could muster a day or two ago and made it yield forced it to surrender so that
now having the proverb of my side "Difficile est prinum aditus
I imagine I shall met with no little resistance. It is candle light
therefore as I have nothing very particular to say and have a Chapter to
write to my Brother which Lord I am affraid my eyes will not hold out to do
I must conclude with wishing you all health &c and subjoining my ul
