What a Blockhead am I! I have left in my red or
Orange coloured silk waistcoat pocket the key of the Chest
in which I hope to find my lost papers, the Chest
is too good to be broken open & the lock is too good to
be picked. Send me this key I beg of you immediately
you cannot send it before Thursday, therefore I cannot
return till Fryday. as it happens it will be convenient
I should stay on account of the Contract Scheme.
I have not as yet seen Mr Peake he although I am now
at his house he drinks tea out. I have just sent
Jim to Mrs D to know if the your parcel is come & if there
is a letter for me, the parcel is come but no letter.
I went down to Woolwich in a Chariot with 2 ladies.
I did not set out from London till ½ after four.
I found Mr Lawrence as I had expected much
pleased with the reception I had met with from
Ld M & disposed to put in his Oar, he will be in
Town in about a Week, and will call on us.
Suppose Wilson were to call on Dr Fordyce and say
what you think ought to be said if anything before
he sees Ld Mulgrave again. he may tell his Lordship
that I intend to shew him something in about a week or 10 days
