and destroy the Natural Parliamentary Representation.—

You gave me a hint in your Last to fill my Sheet you see I have made pretty good use of your permission
& sent you plenty of Nonsense — If Nevertheless you have patience to read it through & are not totally
discouraged by such Specimens, you may perhaps be answering this at your leisure receive some more of the same
mint — the generous openness with which you have given me your advice upon the first business & trouble
with, will induce me always to throw out my ideas without reserve — which as they may be in hopes of profiting by your
free remarks — I flatter myself you may even sometimes find a pleasure in lending a lifting hand to others
over the same sort of obstacles that you once met with in your own road — believe me ever with the
sincerest acknowledgement. Yours truly & affecty

Geneva
—Feby 12th 1779.

I see by my Mothers last Letters there is an Election coming on at Oxford for the Chimical Professorship
in which some of my warmest friends interest themselves very much for Dr Parsons of Christ Church
who has already given sevl Courses there upon that same branch of Natural Philosophy — Though even upon
the greatest necessity I could not think of begging you to go down there in person to give a Vote in person
yet if in London at the time of the Election you find a Friend engaged on the other side with whom you
can make a sure engagement to strike off a vote on both sides you may do the same essential business
as effectually & I shall think it another very considerable obligation in addition to the many
for which I am already so much your Debtor. —
