is clearest of other Ideas — and approaches nearest
the State of a Tabula rasa. It might not be amiss
if you was to set down as many Questions in English,
as you may be capable of imagining you may have
occasion to ask on your arrival at any place where the
German language is spoken, & get your Master to
turn those Questions into German, as also the probable
answers to them either in the affirmative or negative -
wch. I shod think wod be a good means to prepare you
for understanding how to ask the Common & probable Questions, & the answers
thereto; but you have your Brothers assistance — to whom my Love &
