When the I was getting out at my lodgings I began to
tell my servant at the same time that he began to
remind me that something was to be given, accordingly
I told him to give what was right & proper which
he told me afterwards amounted to 2 Shillings english.

I should have given more myself but my
honest fellow wont le always takes care that
I shant pay too much.

As soon as we were got up into my room
he began with his expressions of astonishment.
"I can not think, Sir, what the devils the matter"
"The Countess makes you very great honour."
"I have never known her do so to anybody before.
"You walked to her house, without form, without"
"any ceremony No Sword no dress and She send"
"you home with 4 horses." Why says I I suppose
She usually does so when She has company
at her house who have not a carriage to
wait for them. — "O no Sir I have known"
"her send some company home some Gentlemen"
"but then never with more than 2 horses."
"besides She sent her Secretary to Town but"
"the minute before you in her common coach,
"and the servants told me that the countess"
"ordered him a seperate coach that I you might"
"have the state one to mysel yourself."

I thank the old lady to be sure for her honour
She desired me to bring Chas Hanbury with me
when I go to her possibly I may go tomorrow
You will be surprized to see me talk
so coolly about tomorrow as if I meant
to stay here to all eternity. I am
almost out of patience but I cant help
it in expectation day after day and
perhaps go by land after all.

You will hear again I dare to say
by next post I wish you may
read and understand all this.

a fault I frequently make is to write
gs and ds for each other.
