Now it was to be sure it was Ofenberg did not say that Klopman had
written any thing about me but he did say that the Duke had, and I should
imagine the Duke must have consulted with Klopman about it.
Upon the whole I dont much like this letter, perhaps Klopman in the
midst of the bustle he Mittau must be in at present forgot my
name & all about it. You know I suppose by the papers that the
Duke actually has or is just upon the point of taking to him
a 3d wife. He has been married these 3 weeks. I hope thosee rejoicings are over by this time.
If this letter of K's should make you think with of Courland with less
expectations, be assured that with respect to Russia my expectations are
greater than they were. I dont like at all to find that there ar
no ers for me at Mittau. This is a very great disappointment lett
my ony hopes now are that on some account or other you have y
to direct your letters and to Liban instead. I hope to be at
Liban tomorrow or if I should find reason to stay here a second day
then at furthest the day after tomorrow I hope to find
my letters. There is a great deal of money to be got in the -by Shipbuilding
in these Northern Countries at this time. Can it be impossible
that I should be able to come in for a little.

8 or 10 in short to all the Nobility about the place.
I dont recollect having spent more than 3 days idle since I lef Hanburg. those were at Schwedt
