The armament in the Black Sea is a favourite object at
present they have built there a 64 Gunship and have
had for some time a number of large frigates. If I had
a mind to go and build Ships for them there, they would be
very glad of my services.

The Empress sets off according to the time appointed on
Saturday next after dinner the 10t of May OS. This is
somewhat unlucky for me, that she should have chosen this
year of all years of her reign to get out of the way.
I believe I shall go down to Cronstadt again to day, but
as Count Pouin dines at Sir James's I wont set off till after
dinner. It is about a four hour row.

As to the Turks they are I understand in such a want
of money that notwithstanding assistance from France
they will make but a very poor figure with their
fleet. If they send out 5 sail in tolerable condition
they will do great things.
