Dantzig, 2 October 1780

Dear Sir

Your very kind letter from St. Petersburg gave
me great Pleasure & very happy it made me
to see you returned safe from such a dangerous circuit —
the Civilties you received here were doubly paid by the
real Satisfaction your Company afforded us & certain
I am there is not a soul you was acquainted with here
but what would rejoice to see you again. I shall not
fail to pay your Comp. to the amiable Miss Huzarchewskow
& tell her all the sweet things you say of her but too much
indeed cannot be said of her, for her meritts beggar all
discription. We live now pretty much in the old Way
only Mrs Peterson made the General a present of a fine
Bay a fortnight ago since which she & it are both very well
fall extremely happy on the contrary your Friend the Knight
is no more he died a month or 6 Weeks ago at Parition
The Mark, after having had a weak Mornint in which
he married his old Piece Ships-Lucy, whose greatest Grief is
that he could not live to return to Dantzig again to introduce
her
