here, and in case of not succeeding here others more certain elsewhere.
I cannot speak of this in this Letter.

Let me beg of you, Sir, never to write anything about people here
it is impossible that suggestions can be of any use to me and the
mention of names only can hurt me all Letters are opened. Let
me also beg you, Sir, not to say anything in England about any
persons with whom I am concerned here, particularly nothing
about Sir James's patronage, the least you say about me the better.
Say only every body is very friendly & very civil, that I have almost
seen what is to be seen here and talk of setting off for Sweden, as
soon as the frost is well set in.

My health seems at last well established it has at different times
been far otherwise, has been also an interruption to my occupations
and a very great expense if I reckon all that have arisen from it.
My illness at my arrival at Petersburg cost me £20. The State
of my health at Hamburg was the cause of Setting out in
an expensive plan, and as it happened brought on other great
accidental expenses. The Piles I had till about a month ago
but am ever in hope they will not return. I never told you
of a Hurt I got in my leg from being overturned at Mittau. It
was by great accident & some address that it was not broke, the bone
was at is were swell'd so as to be very visible for some months
but is now quite gone for some months past.

The Instant I close this for the Post, I begin writing another in
answer to the many I have reced. I have written but one I
think since my return. I have not yet written an account of my
Excursion. One Letter which I sent from Pultova came here only
two or three days ago. I cannot add a word more except to assure you, Sir,
that I never felt need such sentiments of duty & respectful affection as
those with which I subscribe myself.
