Here I am at the first post house of the first station Stepaninin
they tell me the name of the village 33 versts from Petersbourg.
Here I am From here I am put the necessity of troubling
you once more. I was first told there were no horses,
afterwards that there were but two and then that
there were five. I want only 4 according to my
podaroquis but they will give none at all.
They cant read they wont believe that my it is a courier's
podaroquis that I have because it is 4 horses they
say it may be for 2 or for 3. As there are objections
and causes of delay that I shall be may be exposed to
all the way I take the liberty of troubling you to get
it put to rights once for all.
The way I should prefer would be to get 2 courier's
podaroquis for 2 horses each one for each
either one of them in my name and the
other for my servants or one for each of
the soldiers. I have sent one of the soldiers with
this letter and I shall wait here reading my Russian
grammar till his return.
