Joula, if you should go by that way, if is a very remarkable
place for manufactories, particularly
in Ironwork & arms; the Russian Birmingham.
Near Joula is the Lake called Iwan from which
springs the Don, & two rivers Shatt & Ossett,
which flow towards the Occa & Volga; Peter the great
projected here a connexion of the Don & Occa.

Beyond Kiew, & in all places situated or bordering
upon the Crimean desert, it is worth
while to enquire, particularly at the Silversmiths,
for Old Roman Coins & other Antiquities.
Sometimes such things are found
with the Cossacks & other common peoples.
About Asof they say plenty of old medals
are found.
