From Dmitrefsk begin the German Settlements
on both sides the Volga. From the same place
you could take a trip to the Salt Lake Elton.

From Saratog up to the Volgha to Simbirsk, there
is little remarkable besides natural curiosities,
amongst which the Sulphur mountain hill
(Sernaya ghora) is most remarkable, a little
above Samara; where the finest native Sulphur
is found & was once dug for a fabrik, now
deserted.

Between Simbirsk & Cazan on the eastern
side of the Volgha lies the village of
Bolghari, where the most perfect remains
of Tatarian buildings can be seen, &
Tatarian coins collected. It was the Capital
of the Bolgharians in these parts.

Between Cazan & Nishnei Novogrod there is
the village of Pawlofsk, very remarkable
for its curious iron Manufactories &c.

You may pass from Nishnei Nov. to to Jaroslawe
one of the best Russian trading & Manufacturing
places, & go from thence strait
to Juere leaving Moscow on you left. —
