be put, it cannot be mystery to enumerator; neither would I trouble
you, Sir, with so uninteresting a detail. It may be more useful in the
construction of ships & all kind of small vessels, than even for buildings
on land, as more accuracy is required in the former. All the work, in
short, which is used to be by the instruments which the carpenter
wills planes, of what kind soever, may be done more expeditiously,
& with more accuracy by the machine in question. Mouldings in the
form of arches, as well as straight. The general description of it there
is, a Machiner, to be worked by horses, wind, water, or whatever other
force the circumstance of the place renders the most eligible, for the
doing all sorts of planing work much more accurately & expeditiously
then it would be done by hand.
