Petersburg Jany 31t 1783 PS

I have written by this post to Sir Joseph Banks President
of the Royal Society to inform him of the late director
of the Academy of Sciences being turned out of his place
and Princess Parkshaw appointed directrice in his
stead. I at the same time afford to satisfy any
curiosity he might have respecting the interior
parts of this country. I enclosed him a
copy of the speech the Princess made at the
first meeting. Now you must hasten yourself
to afford all scientific information, and as any proposals
for the improvement of Issue will at present stand
an excellent chance of being forwarded you may
manage up all you have of that kind.
