If for some time past I have been in a situation of mind but
little fit for business; believe me, Sir, that I have resolution
enough to let no consideration impede my exertions in favour
of any public business.

This circumstance gives me courage to be able to acquaint you with
the money I have taken up here in credit it amounts nearly to 400£.
however great that sum may be, I do assure you, Sir, that it
has been expended with the greatest œconomy; besides that in
considering my present situation in every particular, I cannot
conceive the advantages of it could well have been bought
at a cheaper rate. With respect to my future views
I shall take the opportunity of writing shortly by the
of one of the English ships.

Sir James assures me that this business will put me to
no expence, which the allowance will not sufficiently provide for.
