I have been to Zansko Zillo and have given my letter. Mr Besberotky who
perhaps you may know is the second man in power in the country when I offered
it him unsealed for his perusal asking him at the same time if it should be sealed
told me I had better seal it, declined reading it and said if I would dine
with him I might seal it after dinner. I did so, and I exceed was flattered at
his readiness to present my letter without any information of the contents
of it.

And so Sir James proposes to make a stop gap Minister
of me. Of this I must write to you by the post. It must
be confessed that I never was originally cut out for a foreign
minister nor have I acquired much abilities for such a trust.
I have however here the source of some interesting information
to Sir James since I have here in the country, and am in the
way of procuring tollerably good myself if that business is to
be left in my hands. Sir James revived his letter from
Mr Fox which gave rise to his making me this proposition
on Sunday and I set out early Monday morning for Zanko
Zills to give my letter for the Empress. She has it before
this time. Sir James however promises to settle this matter
with Besborotky so as for my engagement with this
country if I should make any should not to take place
till after the arrival of a new Mini & minister
from England, so that I shall be Charge d'affaires
after taking the business from Sir James and till I can
give it off again to the new Minister. Mr Fox in his
letter says he believes it will be Fitzherbert.

This will be a dreadf an extraordinary situation of mine and I think you
should not say anything in England about my expected
