with which the Bark I was in
moved compared to that of the
Bubbles & Pieces of Wood which
swam on the surface of the
Water, and which as well
as the Bark, made a Part of
the Current, I was astonished
at this phenomenon, & presently
recollected my dispute with
the People at Nigri Taghel.
I made the Men row backwds
against the Current, till
all the light substances floating
on the surface passed by us,
then ceased rowing when I
perceived the Bark by degrees
acquiring the same Velocity
as those light substances, V
soon after a greater, so much so
that we appeared to pass by the
light bodies nearly as fast as
they passed by the land, not
a breath of wind stirring,
I got a small Boat off
from
