blames her for want of resolution at present
considering the disregard she paid to appearing
with me before. It is impossible so public that such an
eclat should not find its way presently to the ears of the
Empress. She has several times spoken of it in private
to more than one person from whom I have heard it,
and it seems that She as well as people in general
approves much my conduct but wonders at the same time
that She does not go off with me and marry privately.
Whether any such thing ever will take place is more
than I can give any you any possibility of at give any guess about as we have no correspondence at present
present. The Empress said at the same time that the Mother
was a great fool for opposing her daughter's marrying me.
