XIV.
You could go with me and I could be certain (which in
that case I should be ) of good employment when at my return
I should like it mighty well: but of this there is little
chance. I should first finish some of the proposals I might
make to him respecting improvements in the dock yards,
that he might see that I am worth worth something
and this I dont suppose I shall be able to do to
my satisfaction without you.
You should stay with me till I had by some means or other got a little
money which would enable you to be more at your ease on your return
or till the death of any one on which we have dependance might
answer that purpose and then if I staid still behind you should be
despatched with letters to all manner of people to prepare the way
before me and certainly the better able to make you own way for
the having seen what you would have seen here.
