leave the rest to be sent by water. or to be sent for afterwards The
same horses would bring them all the way in 8 days and any merchant
to whom they have some kind of recommendation would make the
bargain with the Carrier and settle every thing for them.

In case there is no Ship coming to Riga and therefore they go to Petersburgh
they can either stay there till they can receive news from me
after that I am acquainted with their arrival, or without being at the
expence of travelling Post one of my friends there will agree with a
carrier to bring them here in about 11 days. If however they come
post in the same Cabitky the Public will reimburse the cost of the
post horses.

3. In case And: should collect some assistants to come with him so as for
it to be necessary on Account of the Expence to come by way of Riga and
from thence by water to Vitepsk as before mentioned; then it wold better that
notice should be given by a letter to my Friend's house in Petersburgh of the
probable time of their arrival at Riga, and of the name of the merchants
to whom they will be recommended, so that orders be sent to the overseer
of the estate for a boat to be dispatched and a proper man to conduct
them to the spot. If therefore you have any such reason occasion for
assistance for which it would be tedious & uncertain to wait for orders
to given through me a letter may be sent to Petersburgh directed à Madame

St Petersburg.

This lady my friend's wife by whom he came in possession of the estate
will be forewarned of the possibility of such as application, and will
give the necessary orders without their passing through her husband
who as well as me will be with the prince. It is by means of this
Lady that I have my letters forwarded to me, as all all the Couriers who
