her husband. My general idea is that as I cannot fix a time when
I can be at Petersburgh or even any were where else and as that account
whoever comes to me must stop at some place where I can have news
of his arrival and contrive means for our meeting. If if then And: or anybody
else likely to Engage in this rural-economy undertaking be of the party,
I would wish the estate in question to be the halting place 1st because
he might be able perhaps to judge what further help it would be
advisable to have from England time enough for it to come to Riga by
last the last ship this Autumn. 2. This is the most likely place of any
for me to be at or near in about 3 months, as the prince may probably be

I see no reason why A: should not bring his son with him that is rather
than come alone. Were he to be coming with Burkit, to be sure a third person
would make an additional carriage necessary which the public would not pay
for: but even in that case he might come as far a Petersburgh with them
and there be left. I could contrive means of his following. I would give
him in charge to ........ or some other of my friends. He could be learning
the languages French & German as well as he could
be with is Father or me he would be acquiring usefull parts of
