J.B.

2 or 3 different kinds of Ink Vessels, and some of all the coloured
Inks which are sold at the Royal Exchange

There is a kind of Compasses lately invented which when you open them
to measure any distance the lower part of the legs are always
parallel and therefore may be both held perpendicular to the paper
in this manner although the distance included and therefore the
angle of the upper joint varies each time. Let me have a pair
of these compasses and 2 sets of drawing instruments.

I don't want fine cases to them, rather let them be in neat
mahogany flatt boxes in which the instruments will lie horizontally.
Let the drawing pens have springs to them to keep them open to the
thickness of the line required. I want no Scales. In short nothing
but Compasses with the shifting legs dividers & drawing pens.
3 of Echart's parallel rulers of the shortest length and one
a foot long. These will be of Ebony. Two dozen sliding pencils.

Give me some news of the family of Peakes The father I think is Master
Shipwright at Woolwichm, Where are the 2 Sons Harry & John. The latter if he is
still in the Purser line might probably have time to come & see me.

Tea pots of 2 or 3 different kinds & sizes. And you must have a compleat tea apparatus
with you including tea kettle which may be an ordinary copper one. You have I think a Silver
tea kettle bring it. Spoons &c you will want on the road. I am affraid the duty on plate is
heavy but have not just now the means of informing myself you however I dare say have the book of Customs.

A pair of Scales & weights accurate enough to render a gram visible, such as the more
accurate of those used in Apothecaries Shops. I believe a pair of larger scales to weigh
as far as 8 or 10 pounds may be had for 5 or 6 shillings if so let me have a pair.
