I have not began, Sir, as yet to make any of the
provision you would wish me to make for future times, nor
have I ch just at present an opportunity of doing it.
my immediate object is the improvement of the establishments
belonging to the Prince which are under my direction,
that he may have reason to continue to me that degree
of consideration and protection which he has hitherto
given me without any.

I am much obliged to you, Sir, for your endeavours
to procure the permission for a Shipwright or two to come
out here to my assistance. Should you have succeded it
I should much wish they might come out with Notman.

This is the third night I have sat up writing till
3 o'Clock. I wish you all a merry Christmas.
mine will pass most likely undistinguished from
the rest of the year. I shall however every now
and then make one in idea at Q.S.P.

Your affectionate & dutifull
Son S.B.
