Moscow 18th March 1785

I have met here a Dr Brown Physician from
Carmathen South Wales withfrom whom in the course of an
intimacy which I have contracted with him I have heard
of a man whom wishes to come to this country and to be
employed in some one of the several ways in which I
could employ him at Critchoff. I understand a Salary
of 20 pounds a year with board and lodging would
content him but it is necessary to advance him
twenty five pounds to rig him out and ship
him off. his name is George Benson an Irish
man but many years in Wales. Dr Brown has
a wife and family at Carmarthen and has written to
her to send off this said Benson with leave to
draw on you for any sum not exceding twenty five
pounds. If he comes by way of London you
will see him and may then give him what money
within that sum there may be occasion for: but I have
