to Lordship. By my carelessness I let slip an opportunity
I think I might have had without much difficulty of getting letters
from a noble German Marquis to whom it fell in my way tother
day to shew some little civilities, a man of quality highly
spoken of by President Fischer & the Comte de Mersanet
which will be the greater loss as Giara is a place I
shall have to spend a week or ten days at without
having access to a there unless perhaps it be
the British Consul whoever he may be.
I think now to set out for Paris within ten days, and
within that time shall hope to receive the last, and
greatest marks of your Lordships kindness, which partiality goodness to me,
will never fail to meet with correspondent gratitude
in the breast of one who has the honour to be
with the truest respect I have the honour to be and attachment

My Lord here in I have received at different times letters for the following pursuers
[ I feel some compunction at the thought of having given so much exercise to kinds
so much that be more better employd in the name of government] I am in haste to go Do not measure the depth
of my respect or the strength of my gratitude by the length of my letter but believe
me to be Your Lordship's most devoted
