St James's 26th. Augt. 85

Dear Sir,

Mr. Herries very regulary brought me your
Letter of the 22d. with it's Inclosure on Wednesday,
and upon Consultation with him He was of Opinion
that by forwarding the Letter to Nice by this Day's
Post, it would most probably be in Time to meet
Mr Bentham there; I therefore gave the Russian
Letter to Him to proceed in the Conveyance of it in
this Manner; but as I have today received
your third Letter of the 25th. approving my Mode
of sending the Letter to Sr Robt. Ainslie, I have
manded the Letter from Mr. Herries, and shall
send it by this Night's Post to Constantinople; and
at the same Time have agreed that Mr. Herries
should write to Night to Mr. Bentham under Cover
to their Correspondt. at Nice acquainting him
of the Letter, and where He will find it on his
Arrival at Constantinople. My best Respects attend
Mrs. Bentham &c &c — and believe me
Dear Sir very sincerely Your's &c
Jm Sneyd
